Hay Stacks & Pillar from Fleetwith Pike
Hay Stacks & Pillar from Fleetwith Pike

I started the climb up Fleetwith in relatively clear sky’s but by the time I got to the top visibility was down to about ten yards. The low mist and cloud seemed to be moving quite quickly and with the odd star seen through fleeting gaps it seemed worthwhile setting up the tripod and hanging around to see what would happen. Luckily the cloud started to thin a little and I managed to expose a number of shots as the rising sun illuminated the fell tops. Unfortunately the clag soon thickened up again and I ended up descending to the car in driving snow.
